Placing 9th, the Argentine capital has been recognized for its high level of culinary excellence globally, highlighting emblematic dishes of gaucho and criollo culture such as Argentine asado, empanadas, locro, mate, tortas fritas, and its pizzerias.
Moreover, Buenos Aires currently has four restaurants awarded with the Michelin Star, the most prestigious award in the global culinary field. Among the Latin American gastronomic destinations in the ranking are Lima, in 7th place, whose culinary scene has been recognized by renowned chefs and high-quality restaurants, and Mexico City, in 17th place.
The ranking, compiled by Tripadvisor, highlights only the 25 best gastronomic destinations worldwide, including Rome, Barcelona, Naples, and Paris. Additionally, Buenos Aires stands out for its cultural identity and the excellence of its cuisine, which combines tradition and modernity.
Within the Top-10 best gastronomic destinations in the world are cities such as London, Marrakech, New Orleans, and Athens. Buenos Aires shines with recognized restaurants like Crizia, Don Julio, Tresch, and the internationally recognized Aramburu, by chef Gonzalo Aramburu, who has been awarded twice in a row.
